Allison Cohn is a freelance casting director specializing in comedy.
Starting her career in 2000, working in the Talent Department at Comedy Central in Los Angeles, she scouted and booked comedians for the network’s stand-up series (Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents, Comic Groove, and more). She was instrumental in booking many comedians who have gone on to become well known in their field. Following her time at Comedy Central, she went on to work at MTV, first in Los Angeles, and then in New York, as the Manager of Casting, where she was charged with finding new comedic talent and personalities for the network. While at MTV, she produced bi-coastal comedy showcases featuring emerging and development ready talent for the network. Following MTV, she became Manager of Casting at ABC Primetime, in New York, where she auditioned actors for series regular roles on scripted pilots and series.
Since leaving ABC in 2009, she has been working as a freelance casting director, casting projects for many different networks and producers.
In addition to working as a casting director, Allison works as a talent booker, booking comedians on television shows, usually as panelists, talking heads, or hosts.
Allison scouts talent at comedy festivals across the country, and on any given night, you’ll probably find her at a comedy show or play, laughing loudly (but only if it’s a funny play).
